Anthropic adds OpenTelemetry tracing to the Claude Platform in public beta

You can now send OpenTelemetry traces from Claude Managed Agents, the Messages API, and the Claude SDKs to any OTLP tool. Traces cover agent turns, model calls, tool use, latency and token counts, and follow the OpenTelemetry GenAI semantic conventions so they sit beside the rest of your stack in tools like Grafana Cloud, Honeycomb, Sentry, Langfuse and LangSmith. Managed Agents and the Messages API need a destination in the Claude Console; the SDKs export automatically.

How you’d use it: If you already watch Claude Code or Cowork in an observability tool, point Claude Platform agents at the same destination so failed or slow agent steps show up next to the rest of your stack.
